Our six foundational principles

Refuge Fellowship was born out of a set of convictions that govern how we carry out the work of the church in Jesus Christ. We've called this set of convictions our "Six Foundational Principles". Every current and future member of Refuge are directed to agree with and live out these principles.

R – REST – Principle #1 (Matthew 11:28-30, Psalm 46:10 & Psalm 62:1)

To REST in Him by abiding in the vine. “He is the vine and we are the branches. Apart from HIM we can do NOTHING.” Abiding in Him allows HIM to produce HIS fruit (the fruit of the Spirit, Gal 5:22-23) in us.

E – ENJOY– Principle #2 (Philippians 4:4, Psalm 64:10 & Psalm 5:1)

Pressing on, pursuing Christ while we experience the life long process of sanctification – our completion in Christ – that will be totally fulfilled when we finally see Him face to face!

F – FAMILY – Principle #3 (Acts 2:42-47, Ephesians 2:19-22 & Galatians 6:10)

Our family principle is realizing that we are more than just a group of people meeting together. We are a family of brothers and sisters, bound together as believers by the Holy Spirit of God, sharing in the work, the love, the fellowship, the protection, and the purpose of ministry God has called us to here at Refuge.

U – UNITY – Principle #4 (Psalm 133; Ephesians 2:19-22 & Ephesians 4:1-6) Unity is an incredibly important and often overlooked principle in the Word of God. We are not capable of producing anything honoring to God while experiencing disunity, division and the like. We are exhorted in Ephesians 4:3 to protect the unity.

G – GIFTS – Principle #5 (Romans 12:4-8; I Cor 12:4-7 & 1 Peter 4:10-11)

To identify and understand our Spiritual Gift(s) and then employ them to the service of God at Refuge Fellowship, for the exhortation of the believer and to bring glory to Name of our Father.

E – EQUIP– Principle #6 (Hebrews 13:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 & Ephesians 4:11-16)

This is how we, as a church, through our bylaws, policies, procedures and leadership structure plan to carry out, or EXECUTE and protect, our Foundation Principles as we serve the Lord together.
